FAQ

In our first session together, we'll focus on assessing your challenges and setting goals for therapy. We'll discuss your mental health history, relationships with others, and your experiences at school or work. Together, we'll identify the main areas you want to work on and improve.
For clients with more complex backgrounds, this initial assessment might span two sessions. Typically, by the end of our first meeting, I can share my initial thoughts and begin planning how we'll proceed together.

It varies for everyone. Generally, people show noticeable progress within about 6-8 sessions, though this can differ based on individual needs. By the end of our first or second session, I'll provide an impression of what to expect based on your specific concerns.
I often suggest meeting every 1-2 weeks initially to keep things moving forward.
If you have limited sessions due to health benefit coverage, we can tailor the content to fit your timeframe.

Your confidentiality is a top priority. I do not share your identity or personal information without your explicit consent. However, there are specific legal and ethical situations where I may need to disclose information without your consent, which we will discuss during your initial session.

Unfortunately, MSP does not cover psychological services. However, many clients find that these services are fully or partially covered by their extended health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please contact your insurance company for details about your benefits.
-
Please check your extended health coverage to confirm. I do not offer direct-billing, so you will need to pay for the sessions in full first. A receipt will be provided to you with the necessary information required for getting reimbursement by insurance.
Some questions you may wish to ask your insurer include:

Does my plan cover individual therapy delivered online?
How much coverage do I have per year?
Do I require a physician’s referral to qualify for my insurance coverage?
How do I submit my claim for reimbursement after my visit?
